Pros
Drivers are paid by the day, stop and miles which isn't to bad and every pick up you do is $10 extra which is good long as it takes a few minutes. They lease trucks from Ryder and Ryder does maintain the trucks and they come to the yard to wash them too.If some reason you break down on the road and have to wait more then 2 hours to get up and running, the company will pay you like your driving 55 mph till you get up and running again. At first you will have a driver trainer for 2 to 4 weeks and you will be paid by the hour till you receive your on route. They have paper logs which I like. You will have to stay over night once or twice a week, but the best part is you will be staying in a motel room since the trucks are day cabs,The company does have a class A credit rating.
Cons
The company is run by the 4 siblings of the Buttery family. This family will change the rules all the time and each one have their favorite employees that can't do no wrong.Their benefits aren't to great. Employee Insurance is pay buy the company, but you have to pay the first $3000 each year medical care before discounts kick in.Driver bonuses are pay every 4 months and each month is only worth $60. And if you mess up in anyway they might take all of it.If someone lies about you they will take the bonuses,so don't look forward to the bonuses. If the head of dispatch ask you to do something or you ask him if you can do something and the Buttery family doesn't like it you will be in trouble and the dispatcher will lie and say that he never say that,so watch out the back stabbing dispatcher. One of the worst things is the container that's in front of the truck where they keep the boxes at,it gets so hot in there in the summertime that some driver have past out from the heat. And the company won't fix this problem.Buttery does have a huge turnaround in the yard and warehouse which can cause loading problems.
