Pros

The team at Buyagift is second to none. The company also just got beautiful new offices and have made a lot of effort to treat the employees to some special treats. The work is also really interesting and there is a lot of future growth so it's an exciting time to join!

Cons

The office is a little far but depending on where you live it could be a benefit. I also think Buyagift could raise its salaries to be more competitive.

Overall, I would not recommend the online trading team to anyone looking for supportive management, strong development, or a culture that values wellbeing and appreciation. Poor management within the online trading team. Very limited autonomy, a heavy level of micromanagement, and a lack of clarity. This creates a difficult and demotivating day-to-day experience. This atmosphere has contributed to high turnover within the online trading team. The online trading team and company culture is poor and disconnected. There is no appreciation or recognition, little sense of team cohesion, and not much effort made to create a positive or welcoming environment. There is also very little collaboration culture in practice. Information often feels tightly controlled, and team members are not given enough opportunity to work directly with other functions or take ownership of broader projects. The online trading team also relies on outdated and clunky tools, which makes routine tasks more time-consuming and inefficient than they need to be. HR response times are also extremely poor, even on important matters such as payroll, pension, and contracts. Leadership and direction feel lacking, particularly during the transition following the Moonpig merger, with ongoing uncertainty across the Experiences side of the business. Onboarding is weak, with no effort made to properly integrate new starters into the wider team.
