Pros

When I joined the company I was pleasantly surprised by the positive thinking and desire to work as a team. The company culture is presented as "no politics, everyone has hands in everything". The Founders presented themselves at my interviews as "there to serve others". Some people really goes out of their way to do the best they can, oftentime using their own personal time to bring that 120% on the table.

Cons

Unfortunately the reality of things is much different from the promise. A huge part of the company is made by people that does the minimum necessary or doesn't know what they're doing and don't care to improve or have different ideas from the company's priority and thus basically work for themselves. The "no politics" is only on paper and what really means is that the founders don't want to know about it but don't do anything actively to discourage it. The don't establish a clear line of hierarchy but have some people being clearly their "counselors". You are not helped in takeing initiative apart from speeches in which they tell you that "you should take initiatives". If any of your initiatives actually bring something good to the company, you're not rewarded nor economically neither in terms of career. The company has gone through a bad time in terms of middle-management recruited over the last two years and this can only be blamed on the founders. A couple of bad people can happen to pass the interviews. Everyone in key positions for two years should not happens. Especially when there are very good professional that distinguish themselves every other day and are not scared to takes more responsabilities. On top of that, the direction of the company feels like total chaos. One quarter the target is "producing content", the next is to "bring value to B2C" strategy, the next one is "screw B2C, let's focus on B2B approach". Ideas that are being transformed into MVP range from stale or nothing that would be going to "set the pace" on their market to "we read about this online and we like the buzzwords". The business plan seems like "let's throw everything on the wall and see what sticks".

Pros

One of the best workplaces I've ever had the opportunity to see real power dynamics at play. A great case study for that, for how influencers from the "lower ranks" can have a big effect on an inefficient management, and on how a toxic environment can make mostly all your employees turn against you. A must-experience if you want to found your own startup one day, as the perfect example of how not to do it.

Cons

The product is shameful, actually there is no real product. This company consists in milking a percentage of the earnings of YouTubers ("creators") for nothing in exchange at all. The new "strategy" is bribing some of the youngest creators with gadgets and lower commission taken to lure them into renewing the contract, although all of them are desperate to leave. Management is inflated (some mid-level management levels are unnecessary) and stubborn, lacking not only serious listening skills, but also grounded feet, and creativity (they only copy what proved to fail with other multi--channel networks). No career plan, no real benefits for employees (being in a co-working space that provides fortnightly breakfast is NOT a benefit, neither is "having the opportunity to work as a human", as they bizarrely state on their job postings).

Pros

With the company being a start-up it gives you the opportunity to learn different areas of the company outside just your day to day role. This is obviously great to learn new skills and broaden your knowledge. Because the company is so small you do develop much better relationships with everyone else and it brings a wide variety of different interests, cultures and everyone gets along well.It makes for a great social team which both of my previous work places lacked. Your performance is key and it's certainly noticeable in a company of this size. This can obviously be a good and bad thing. Good individual performance is celebrated however some times work can be slow and this will also be noticeable too. Good environment and great people working with a common interest in a growing and exciting industry.

Cons

The start-up aspect of the company means that workload can vary. You have good weeks and you have bad / slow weeks and as mentioned performance is noticeable on an individual level. Sometimes you can feel like nothing is going your way which can be frustrating especially in certain tougher markets in the industry. Even if you're not finding immediate success however you are noticed for trying.
