Pros

Some nice people, the office is in a great area and some of the work they get is interesting/cutting edge.

Cons

Staff turnover is extremely high and they are not replaced, they probably struggle to attract replacements because is the salary is substantially below market for the area and the firm's size The firm has also had an indefinite pay freeze for the past year, despite all competitors that I am aware of having given Covid bonuses and pay restoration. There are no perks to speak of whatsoever and certain staff, like trainees, are not allowed to work at home, despite all secretaries, solicitors and legal executives being able to. HR don't respond to any emails that they don't want to, meaning you are forced to chase them about even small things. They don't provide work phones, laptops or even video conferencing equipment meaning you have to use your own personal phone for work, which the partners and and will text and call you on outside working hours and on weekends. There is no formal training regime for trainee solicitors. Some of the lawyers give trainees interesting work but a good proportion simply get them to do menial tasks like printing and scanning or literally just moving boxes.
