Pros
I was able to meet a couple of coworkers who were driven. Unfortunately no one lasted more than a month at work.
Cons
Based on my experience they were excited to bring me into their team. Unfortunately I was lied to about how many hours and days I would be working as well as the day-to-day tasks. You’ll be a salary based employee who is required to work 10+ hour days, 6 days a week. When asked about feedback or if you have any questions or concerns when they are training, do no give them honest feedback since they become defensive. This is coming from someone who gave constructive feedback and who also saw someone else give feedback. The most disappointing part while working with them is facing micro aggressions and sexism at work. I remember having a conversation about feeling unsafe with one of the “higher ups” and he dismissed my concern and told me to not voice these concerns with my peers because I would scare them. He began detailing how I was reinforcing stereotypes about my own community in order for me to stop voicing my concern. I explained to him that I would feel better having this conversation with DEI (diversity, equity, and inclusion) in mind. I took a moment to reflect how I as a woman of color was reinforcing stereotypes in a community I grew up in. I decided to record what was happening and why I felt unsafe and my experience was dismissed. That is when I decided leave since HR never responded any of my calls.
