Pros
Great benefits and work environment. All staff members get a paid holiday break during the week of christmas through NewYears. Awesome employee's union. Amazing job security due to the union. All salaried employees earn overtime for work beyond 40 per week, Ive never heard of another employee that offers that. Really cool environment
Cons
Overall low pay and lack of growth potential. Heavily Bureaucratic. A lot of the faculty and professors are not held accountable for their actions or lack of follow through related to college business and administrators have to pick up the slack. You must have a Ph.D to hold a senior administrative position, and a lot of those people don't posses the business acumen to be effective in those positions (ie. a Doctorate in Sociology doesn't translate to effective business skills like budget management).
