Pros
Great coworkers, and a great boss. The salary is competitive, but then I did my research to back up pushing for a competitive salary - so I don't know if it is for everyone. There could be a bit more PTO. They try to keep benefits good and affordable, they are doing a lot of improvements to 401k, etc. I was hired as a remote resource during the pandemic and moved further from the office since then. I am not now being forced into an on-site or hybrid role, which is appreciated.
Cons
Consulting is not for everyone. CEI will have your back with clients, but bouncing from project to project and client to client can be as exhausting as it is interesting, and not all of them are great to work with. I would say the "consulting" aspect, and unfavorable clients are the only thing I have ever occasionally not cared for about the job. They are making strides to improve education on standards for new resources, but it still needs some work.
