Pros
Interning at Certify is the best thing I've ever done for my business career. The opportunities that you get are unlike anything any that my peers experienced this summer at other companies. Marc (the CEO) puts a lot of thought and effort into developing his interns personally and professionally, preparing us all for success at and beyond Certify. As a first-time intern after my Freshman year at Vanderbilt, Marc through me right into the mix and I gained tons of real world experience. I was flown out to two trade shows (in Phoenix and Philly) within my first two weeks, gaining invaluable sales and networking experience that I will hold onto for the rest of my professional career. I also spearheaded a major project, working directly with B2B executives on sourcing, design, and logistics on a daily basis. In addition, the pay was GREAT($15 per hour as a 19-year-old intern) and the hours were flexible. Marc understood that college kids want to enjoy their summers and had no problem with me taking time off for beach trips, family vacations, etc.
Cons
If you're looking for a focused internship in a single field (say accounting), Certify may not be for you. For those of you like me who don't want to waste your life marching up a corporate ladder, you will be pleased by the ability to "wear many hats" and gain experience in many realms of business at Certify.
