Pros

Most of the people are wonderful. Also, there is a pension, and they are generous with regard to vacation time.

Cons

There is a great pay disparity among positions that makes little sense-easier, less complicated jobs often pay much more than jobs that require more skill.

Thank you for taking the time to share your review. We agree with you that we have the best people in the industry working here, and we’re proud to honor their contributions to our business through our highly valued compensation and benefits program. With respect to your comments on pay, two factors drive the pay range for each job here: market data, meaning how the job is paid in the external market; and internal data, meaning how the job is valued within the company when compared to other CME Group positions. Base pay is regularly reviewed to maintain a current view of competitive market rates, with adjustments made as needed.

Pros

- Friendly working environment. - Slow-paced and relaxed. - Opportunity to work on high-impact financial software. Quite useful if you want to get into a trading firm later on.

Cons

- Limited skill growth capability (tools are severely locked down, etc) - Work life balance can be shaky sometimes since systems fail after 5pm, weekend, etc. - Documentation is terribly organized. - Not enough focus on engineering culture. Overall probably not the best place to stick around if you like exploring new skills, building from the ground up, taking ownership etc.
