Pros
- Experience will vary based on individual team and accounts; luckily my direct colleagues are wonderful - 1x/week in-office requirement is amazing and the main reason I stay.
Cons
My first couple of years at CMI were fantastic and the company practiced what they preached regarding family values, quality work, and work-life balance. Salaries have always been comparatively low, but the former work-life balance made it worth it. That has completely changed. Over the past year+ CMI sneakily updated policies related to flex time/summer Fridays and bonuses to be incredibly confusing and misleading. Summer Friday hours taken must be made up the week of use, meaning that we're "allowed" to work four 10-hour days if we want Friday off. This is not a true "Summer Friday" program. Bonuses are no longer guaranteed and the qualifications for getting one are completely vague. New processes are being implemented left and right that are poorly thought-through and clearly meant to create an appearance of innovation when in reality its all a smokescreen. Products are rolled out and services sold to clients that are completely idealistic, leading to a lot of anger and frustration and leaving employees to defend these false promises made by leadership. CMI is obviously losing business and making concessions to keep clients at the expense of their employees. Teams are slimmer, resources are being taken away, and any regard for work-life balance has evaporated. Senior leadership has evolved into a nasty group of hotheads who spend meetings throwing each other under the bus, and this negativity trickles down to lower levels. It's astounding how quickly CMI has fallen from grace. A few years ago I thought I'd be a lifer at CMI, and now I'd never recommend the company to a friend OR a client. CMI should be a PR company the way they can spin a good story without any basis in reality.
