Pros

CNO has a core of tenured staff that embraces servicing policyholders and the field sales teams they support. There are a lot of good intentions shared by the ELG, however very few are ever followed through with.

Cons

Beware of the Enterprise HR Leadership team! The Carmel office is led by an incompetent, power hungry VP. Everything runs through him, the CHRO is kept in a glass house and business unit leaders are given no access to her. There have been several senior leaders voice their displeasure with this VP and is shady business practices when comes to dictating compensation for promotions and scoping new roles for the organization. In an environment where companies are increasing compensation to retain and attract top talent, CNO's doing the opposite and are low balling people being promoted and are paying incoming employees in the lower 5% of the Insurance space. This has led to a severe decrease in the number of sales agents that field management has been able to attract and retain. As of right now there are a lot better insurance companies offering better compensation.

CNO Financial Group Response

We are sorry to hear about your experience. We take feedback from our associates very seriously. We promote a culture where associates can share their feedback directly with our senior leadership in a variety of forums (townhalls, group discussions, employee surveys, or directly via email or one-on-one.) Our compensation philosophy focuses on ensuring that our pay is fair and competitive to attract and retain top talent. To do this, we follow industry best practices by leveraging market data from annual compensation surveys to inform our pay decisions. We target the market median and consider the experience, proficiency and performance of the individual in establishing a competitive range of pay. If you have concerns about the workplace environment, we invite you to report that confidentially through the CNO Ethics Hotline. You can also reach out directly to our Chief Human Resources Officer, Yvonne Franzese, at Yvonne.Franzese@cnoinc.com to share your comments.

Pros

Non Stop Learning each and everyday

Cons

Working in this company lacks any sense of relaxation. There is constant pressure, stress, and frequent layoffs. Additionally, employees are required to continuously prove themselves, and even after proving their worth, their work is undervalued due to discrimination and bullying, which are unfortunately ingrained in their work culture.
