Pros
Varying shifts from day to night or both depending on availability, Fast paced environment- shifts went quickly.
Cons
Minimum wage for a very fast and busy job, 6 hour contract for part time staff but during more available times I was put on full time (48 hours) rotas to make up shortfall from lack of full time staff despite repeated requests not to be, Rota's for weeks were done extremely late (Sunday night or monday morning for monday afternoon starts) Management weren't aware of worker's rights laws (I had to repeatedly ask for a break after working for 8 hours straight, was not given one until I informed manager it was a legal requirement) High turnover of staff meant we were repeatedly understaffed on busy days and management weren't concerned with hiring more staff, no training given, just a little instruction on a trial shift on where things are and how to clean a table, Management treated staff with suspicion all the time, were followed to the staff toilet to make sure we weren't sneaking out, reprimanded for being on time ( apparently we should have been at least 15 minutes early), made to sign in and out the minute we started, we were watched on CCTV from the managers office to make sure we were doing our jobs.
