Pros

Great place to get your career started if you are willing to work hard and learn. They have very good training program in Bloomington and software as well as other local trainings throughout a year.

Cons

Compensation package seems pretty good at first until you find out that it's not so easy to meet their goals, since pricing is not very competitive in most of the areas and management is pretty picky what type of policy or client (insurance rating) they will give you a credit for. If you are not careful, you can loose very easily a $1000 or more out of your pay. This is why the turnover here is huge and they are constantly hiring. Country Financial is a good company to start with and learn about insurance/investments, but if you are looking to own your business (as they like to present it) or think about a long term career with them, think twice. This company has a revolving door and there are not too many agents who's been with the company for more than 20 years. They are constantly hiring because they are constantly firing. I have seen career agents being let go after they got sick and their numbers were not as high as before and for other dumb reasons. A rug can be pulled from under your feet at any time and you are left with nothing. Your clients are not really YOURS. When you leave, you leave with nothing. This is NOT your business. This is their business that you are just running. Also, they do have a decent training program but after that, it's very hard to find someone who can be your mentor because those that are successful are too busy to help.
