Pros
This is a unionized position and the union is successfully advocating for higher wages for PCAs. Although CP of MA is the fiscal intermediary, you work directly for an individual employer, which means that there are opportunities to find very good employers and have a better experience.
Cons
The staff who work directly for CP of MA, specifically skills trainers and the people who do payroll and timesheets, are rude and unprofessional. Sometimes they are unethical. I have experienced people from CP of MA accuse employers (people who have disabilities) of fraud when they have clearly not committed fraud, as well as trying to blame their own fiscal mistakes on employers. They have done this in ways that would cause PCAs to not be paid appropriately or people with disabilities to lose the benefits that they are entitled to and require to live. Sometimes people who work in the Fiscal intermediary division have pressured my employers to lie on timesheets in order to cover up their own job mistakes.
