The projects that operational staff get to work on objectively let you meet neat people around the world and advance projects that make the world safer. The benefits are very good, including unlimited PTO.

Even after substantial staffing cuts and rounds of layoffs the organization is very top-heavy while operations and functions staff are chronically overworked and understaffed. There is also some disjointedness where management does not really invest in staff. Promotions come rarely and title and responsibility changes often do not come with associated compensation.
