Pros

The human intelligence team is probably the best you’ll ever work with. The team is very diverse in terms of backgrounds and you feel like people genuinely care about you. The people are the best and have cultivated such a supportive and enriching culture, they are the reason people stick around for so long. The work is important, interesting and the company offers a really good flexible working environment for analysts. It’s a good place to start your career in online safety, and then to use that experience to grow outside of the company.

Cons

The salaries are really poor, since Kroll took over, all team members, (no matter how high their performance) have been compensated with a 2% (maximum) pay rise, way below inflation, for the last 3 years. Crisp gave employees an amazing shares option but haven’t made any effort to retain employees since then. The team is in constant chaos and never has a clear direction nor stability. There is a continuous cycle of managers going on long term sick leave due to burn out. This has constantly led to employees taking on their manager’s jobs with no compensations. The salaries for analysts are the same or less as the public sector, with competitive private companies offering at least 10k a year more for very similar roles. Bonuses are marked heavily on company performance and therefore have been poor the last few years as well. Promotions only award you extra work and very little, if anything, in terms of salary increase. Culture of secrecy regarding salaries means that analysts are sometimes paid more than people in jobs (subject matter experts) two “grades” above them, and there have been at least 20k differences in the salaries of people doing the same role. There really are no benefits to progression, even if you do get a once in a blue moon opportunity. It’s impossible to imagine a future for a company loosing their most skilled, hard working and experienced people with seemingly no control over it. Management are so supportive but their hands are tied when it comes to any decisions taking place higher than the human intelligence department.
