Pros

I worked at crvi open vistas day program the benefits of this job is you get to be out in the community most the day with the people you support you end up really growing a bond with the people you support you get holidays off and the weekends which is a big plus if you have children, set schedule Monday-Friday , you get to do art activities with the people you support

Cons

Cons of this job are honestly just the supervisors and some of the older staff that have been there for many many years. Supervisors like to play favorites and they like to purposely write you up just for the simple fact that they don’t like you . Some they show favoritism can do something “wrong “and they won’t bat an eye but if someone they dislike does that same thing they’ll write them up or say something in a heart beat. They are rude and will gossip about staff they don’t like to the staff that they do like . Honestly seem to have more problems with people of minority. They don’t care much for staff safety they will stick you in a van with 6 individuals to one person then give staff they like 2 staff with 3 or less individuals. The higher ups of the company and the houses are just as bad or worse because I’ve also worked in the houses and management/ supervisors are always rude and stuck up. I also think they pay should be more for the unsanitary things that they require you to do with little to no protection for staff.
