Pros
Great community of colleagues. Benefits are great, and opportunity to gain more education while employed. You can remain a long tenured employee if desired.
Cons
No opportunities to get to better pay or positions unless you leave the University or look for competing opportunities on campus. Nepotism is rampant, growth can be sabotaged by bad players, and leadership can be hit or miss depending on who is placed in the position of leadership.
