Pros

* Nice campus with lots of new innovations. * Good insurance and retirement benefits. * Free education, free EV charging and monthly bookstore discounts for staff. * Annual university wide staff appreciation days and events.

Cons

1. There is a lack of work most of the time, except for the first two to three weeks at the beginning of each semester. If you want to be motivated, competitive, and appreciated for working extra hard, this is not the right place for you. If you enjoy working in a slow paced, repetitive, unchallenging work environment with no expectations to get higher pay nor advancements, this is the position for you. 2. Lower pay compared to other colleges, universities and public sectors in SoCal. 3. Most people stay until retirement. There is no cross-trainings for career development, so you will be stuck at the same position for a long time, unless you could move up to higher positions at a different department. You could also use current position and experience as stepping stones for better opportunities elsewhere. 4. Employees must pay for parking, and parking is a major problem.

Pros

•Making Connections •Gain experience in public institutions on how things work around here.

Cons

•Management could be so entitled. When I was a staff member, leadership sees you as trash. Leadership could be scary! It’s all about reputation here so be careful and stay on the low. Just do your work and leave.
