Pros

Working with the animals Great team who were very sociable and friendly Discounts for own pets Poor employee benefits

Cons

Long shift patterns Not enough recognition for receptionists which is shown in the minimum wage A lot of responsibility Poor management with no clinical experience - relied on head vet too much Poor progression - a queue of people waiting to be trained to be a vet nurse. You’ll be waiting for years Very money driven- high costs compared to other vets No repayment options for customers

Pros

- amazing coworkers help create a supportive environment - ability to learn a lot about different types of medications and their uses - flexible with student schedules that are constantly changing

Cons

- pharmacy managers can be incredibly condescending and take their anger out on you. This environment breeds micromanagement. Have had my pharmacy manager call me outside working hours (at 10-11pm) for trivial reasons - the company will do nothing to protect you when you receive verbal abuse from a customer; company has a "customer is always right" philosophy - Customers will be constantly angry at you no matter what you do. - chronic understaffing, especially on weekends
