Pros
Safety is a focus and it shows in the results. Cabot is a large company with locations throughout the world but it is still small enough where you can easily make your mark and see the impact of the work you do every day. The culture fosters collaboration among members across teams and functions. If you are willing to look or ask for it, there are tremendous opportunities to take on more responsibility and grow in your role. Generally, the right people get promoted, meaning it is based upon quality and value of your work not just whose ego you've inflated. Communication from the executive level down through the production employees is, I think, very good.
Cons
Compensation is just ok and they can be slow to reward you for taking on additional roles and responsibilities. They have been very focused on meeting earnings targets and too often this has meant not back-filling open positions, allocating the work among the remaining members of a team and ruining any hopes of a work life balance. Recently there has been a trend where when they do fill open positions, they no longer go out to the rest of the company for candidates. Instead they make the pick within a team or office and those outside the location who may be interested do not get a chance to interview.
