      Decent Pay and Benefits Good training opportunities if you know how to brown nose to the right people. Safe area for officers to live and work.

      Cons

      Get a few years of experience and move on to an agency that appreciates their Deputies and doesn't use them as faceless, nameless pawns. Easily discarded because there is an police academy down the street to replace them.

      Pros

      Great training, fun co-workers, never a dull moment.

      Cons

      The pay is low. Office administration is doing what they can but many on the county council are unwilling to do what is needed to pay the employees anywhere near the market average.
