Pros

Any free food you get is nice

Cons

Very poor management, team leader frequently disappears and is tardy when present. Understaffed all the time. Very cramped workspace, kitchen is probably comparable to a mcdonalds in terms of size but it will feel half as big. Poor communication between team members. Frequently overbooked. Combined with understaffing, the work becomes stressful more often than not. But a more important note here is that it results in food regularly being given to the customer with poor presentation or Luke warm. I could go on forever about how miserable working here was but I’ll save you the headache.

Pros

Great customers who rewarded comedic and thoughtful moments. Knowing you're expendable and low status is all part of the fun; A worthwhile insight into human psychology, working under the social pressure of threat of embarrassment communicating with hangry guests and fed up cynical managers, sticking up for more socially vulnerable team members against bullying customers and managers. If you can maintain good mental health in a job like this you can do it anywhere. Transferable skills that helped me finally defeat depression.

Cons

Underfunded sites under weak management in key areas sent to the underworld. No redundancy or holiday pay after pandemic forced termination. Inability to spot and cherish talented team members. Greedy economy starved key sites of staff or care resulting in a bad reputation and miserable staff weekend after weekend.
