Pros
depending on the batch of people currently employed, you can make great friends. had a lot of interesting conversations with coworkers and customers, enjoyed a lot about the culture for what it's worth. you can learn a great deal about specialty coffee and get free certifications if you get into it. the roasts are genuinely very good.
Cons
this place will destroy your mental health if you let it. if you want to ever get even 10 minute breaks, prepare to form a nicotine habit for smoke breaks or pretend to have ibs and lock yourself in the employee bathroom. absolutely horrible place to work if you have bipolar or experience mania, or have substance problems. unlimited access to caffeine is your only "benefit" and it can send you over the edge. i saw at least 4 serious mental health crises occur among the staff in the span of 2 years. MGMT will manipulate you and i don't think it's out of malice but their care for you will only extend so far. certain mgmt have anger issues. conflicts between staff will not be handled in an appropriate or useful manner. finally, YOU WILL NOT GET PAID APPROPRIATELY FOR THE WORK YOU DO! It can be a brutal job sometimes and you will NOT be compensated fairly.
