Pros

I've worked at Cakewalk for over 10 years and love the company and the culture. Being a musician, it's really fun to work on a product that you actually enjoy using. You get to work with a lot of smart people and play around with cool gear and software. The environment is challenging but definitely rewarding. Also not a lot of politics going in the background, everyone is super nice and gets along which is a welcome change from some of my other jobs.

Cons

Nothing that I can think of that outweighs the pros.

Pros

You'll never find a more solid group of people to be working with. Everyone does their role and has a great time doing so.

Cons

When Cakewalk was owned by Gibson, the latter made terrible decisions regarding Cakewalk's direction. This ultimately lead to Cakewalk being shuttered for several months.

Pros

Amazing staff, incredibly intelligent and creative developers. The people I worked with seemed like family. Good benefits. First few years were amazing, under Roland ownership.

Cons

High stress, too many projects. The staff was reduced by 2/3, in the ten years I worked at Cakewalk. The workload was not reduced, so there were 35 people doing the jobs of 125 people. The company was practically destroyed by the Gibson buyout. Almost always beer at meetings, only a con if you had a substance abuse problem, which makes it an incredibly irresponsible practice.
