Pros

Sometimes you get to see animals on property.

Cons

Calamigos Resort is nothing short of Freddy Krueger nightmares. Horrible pay, no benefits, and missing hours in paychecks all the time. Guest complaints and dissatisfaction 24/7, constant chaos and drama b/c legitimately no one is trained, employee turnover is the worst I have ever seen anywhere, located in the middle of nowhere, employee parking lot is made of dirt and deep mud holes so car is filthy 24/7, appallingly inappropriate verbal harassment from male senior management towards several female employees (HR does nothing b/c they’re all family friends, I was smart enough to keep a log documenting everything just in case something bad ever happened, no woman at her job should have to do this!!!!) Nutshell: You will hate life.

Pros

Beautiful location and property with scenery

Cons

This is a family run and owned Business. Family comes first, Business comes second. The current owners inherited the business and property from their grandfather who started the business in the 1940s. They don’t really care very much about it, but they depend on the ranch for their income as they try a lot of other businesses in the garment, industry and restaurant business, all of which have failed, and they continue to siphon money away from the ranch. They use the ranch as their personal playground and entertainment space. Garrett is married to a somewhat famous actor and constantly bring some around the ranch along with hosting parties and events and catering to all of their groups of friends. The friends never pay and get everything for free and don’t give any tips. But yet the staff are still expected to provide them with the same level of service as paying guests.
