Pros

I got to work with some great people, seeing smiles on guests faces, nice to work outside if the weather was nice, cute guys lol

Cons

(Please read the whole thing).I have read through all of the reviews and the super positive ones seem to all be fake, probably written by calaway management to keep up their star ratings. I will start with the buses, (thank god I have a car lol) my friends spent up to 2 hours unpaid a day traveling to and from the park , buses would also break down a lot. Dealing with certain supervisor s and full time management was a terrible experience, they know you are easily replaceable and treat you as such. Most full time management have worked at calaway there entire lives, and have never learned however to properly treat people. My friends in the maitenance department used to enjoy their jobs until a new manager came in. I witnessed him treating them like crap, threatening to fire guys for stupid things like not cleaning up or forgetting to wear safety glasses. This guy also loves to go around the park and micro manage everyone. He did this to me one day all while staring at my b**bs and trying to what seemed like flirt with me (super creepy). Major reason why I will find a different job this summer.

Pros

Absolutely no pros whatsoever. Avoid working here. You have been warned. Unless you love screaming children and spending all day outside in the hot sun or cold rain, DONT WORK HERE.

Cons

Quite a low wage for the position Terrible work conditions. Headache inducing. Unfair treatment. Plus you have to purchase a $150.00 uniform to work there

Pros

Despite the challenges, the role was very rewarding. Operating rides meant interacting with hundreds of guests each day, answering questions, and ensuring everyone was following safety rules. This helped me build confidence when communicating with people and strengthened my patience when dealing with large crowds or stressful situations. The job also improved my time management skills. Ride operators needed to keep the ride cycles running smoothly while following strict safety procedures, which required attention to detail and efficiency. Learning to balance safety, speed, and guest service was an important part of the role. Overall, working as a Ride Operator at Calaway Park was a great learning experience. The structured environment and responsibility of the job helped me develop confidence, patience, and strong time management skills that are valuable in any future workplace.

Cons

Working as a Ride Operator at Calaway Park was a valuable experience that helped me develop important personal and professional skills. The job was very well organized, with clear expectations and procedures that made it easy to understand what was required each day. Management placed a strong emphasis on professionalism, especially when it came to dress code and phone policies. Phones were not allowed during shifts and uniforms had to be worn properly at all times, which created a disciplined work environment and helped ensure that operators stayed focused on safety and guests. One challenge of the job was the working conditions. Many ride stations did not have much shelter, so during the summer months it could get very hot while standing outside for long periods of time. This could be physically tiring, especially during busy days. However, it also taught me how to stay focused and manage my energy while working in outdoor conditions.
