Pros
During my tenure at the Caliber Group, I managed public relations and had the opportunity to help shape thought leadership, as well as weigh in on some very interesting community outreach projects.
The owner and I worked closely on projects, where I was able to learn from her experience and push myself out of my comfort zone into new professional territory. This is a great way to get better at your craft.
She put a lot of faith in me, even when I didn't always feel it myself! It was an excellent learning opportunity that made me better at not only PR, but in helping to lead in many new areas of communications where I had never worked before. Nearly a decade later, I am still using those lessons as a PR strategist for the largest hospital system in Oregon.
Cons
This was a great learning experience for me and the owner gave me the opportunity to grow. Growth can be painful, but it's certainly not a con!
