Pros

The people in my team were awesome. Great people made my time here bearable.

Cons

Old company that still hasnt progressed. Lack of defined policies and or processes. Seems like these were improvised as issues came up. Career advancement is very limited and benefits are just average. It is absolutely terrible to have to wait 3 months for health benefits and 1 year for PTO. Never heard of such a thing until coming here. Severance package is a joke and is only given after 2 years of service. No bonus package for all regular employees. Longtime employees are worked to the ground so that executive officers can fatten their bonus and line their pockets. Constantly hiring contractors over FTE so that it is charged on capital projects and doesnt effect their bonus payout. Team morale is low and the root of the problem is at the very top. When comp time is not given at 1:1 and sometimes not at all, that sends a negative message that employees are not valued. You could work for an entire weekend and you'll be lucky to get a day off in return. You may get a $25 gift card and a pat on the back for your efforts.

Pros

- There are incredibly knowledgeable and intelligent people working in the company. - Good benefits and above average pay. - They promote from within. Highly regarded and driven individuals move up in the company. - Opportunities for lateral transfers are present. - Company events - Approachable management

Cons

- Huge turnover and problem with retention as a result of company culture and politics. - Lack of a structured development program. When mixed with high turnover, creates an environment of trial by fire. - The lack of the structured development program creates a disconnect with the talent in the company. - Corporate greed manifests itself in setting unrealistic goals and timelines, which in turn leads to deliverables with poor quality, inaccurate estimates, and burnout. - Some employees (and managers) work to the bone - weekends, nights. It's implicitly encouraged.
