Pros

CanCap is a great place for people who want exposure to different areas of the business and an opportunity to grow quickly. One of the strongest aspects of the company is the easy access to senior leadership and management, which makes communication and decision-making much more direct than in larger organizations. The staff and team culture are also very friendly and collaborative, and most people are always willing to help each other succeed. The environment encourages employees to take ownership and contribute beyond their core responsibilities, which can be a valuable learning experience for motivated professionals looking to develop their careers in financial services.

Cons

Compensation and benefits could be more aligned with the level of responsibility and workload expected from employees. Many team members consistently deliver beyond their scope, but there is limited recognition, incentive structure, or long-term reward for maintaining that pace over time. There were also opportunities to improve some office environments and infrastructure. While some locations were in excellent areas, certain office spaces felt outdated and lacked basic conveniences and proper upkeep, including better lunch/water facilities and general maintenance standards. At times, the company appeared to prioritize adding layers of senior management instead of investing more in operational and delivery staff who were directly handling the workload. This occasionally created pressure on existing teams and affected efficiency.

Pros

The team that you come in with

Cons

The 4 day training was not enough to help us do live deals. Plus we barely had support. Everyone was extremely busy doing their own thing and whenever we miss SLA they want to threaten our jobs. This is the first credit analyst role I’ve seen where you adjudicate deals and be an open call center. It’s crazy. Whenever the new hires need help, it would take forever to hear back from someone and some of the seniors won’t even respond. This is the most depressing environment I’ve ever been in. People there are really mean and they can’t make up their mind to agree to a thing. This place is really disorganized. The scheduling is worse, one week you’re working 9 to 5 the other week you’re working 10am, then sometimes they feel like putting you for 12 and then back to 10. It’s kind of ridiculous.
