Pros

Once salaried you get open vacation, good benefits and flexible schdules. Company has a lot of fun mini perks (ie. brings food in frequently, free coffee).

Cons

If you are hourly you will be micro managed in the extreme. You are required to punch in and punch out, no flexibility in scheduling, stuck at your desk all day, not allowed to work from home. No real training program. Even bathroom breaks will come under scrutiny.

We are sorry to hear that you would not recommend CapSpecialty. We do have excellent benefits for salaried employees! We also have excellent benefits for hourly employees that include at least 2 weeks of paid vacation per year (up to 4 weeks with experience) + 5 personal paid days + 6 paid sick days + 9 paid holidays. We also have excellent professional development opportunities with bonuses upon completion, an annual incentive bonus plan, referral bonuses, services bonuses, holiday bonuses, a fully vested, generously matched 401k, rich benefits with low premiums, and growth opportunity, to name but a few benefits we offer all full time employees. We also do have a fair amount of flexibility, but we must do so in compliance with various federal and state laws. For instance, The Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) provides excellent protections for the American workforce and they do that in part by mandating employers keep meticulous track of hourly employees time, therefore, punching in and out and more rigid scheduling is necessary for non-exempt positions. We wish you the very best and our door is open for further communication or future opportunities.

Pros

Flexibility. Entrepreneurial. Supports desire to attend regional and national functions. Pay has become more aligned with the industry. Mentor/Mentee opportunities for those that seek it. Hybrid and remote work options.

Cons

Very limited growth opportunities. Open PTO comes with a cost, often working during scheduled time off. Communication and collaboration is lacking. Little recognition for exceptional work.
