Pros
Great engagement with faculty and staff, and great team building experience. Helping students in their work is an incredibly validating experience, and the contacts you form here can last a lifetime. There are many skill training options available, and those who come to teach or assist can walk away knowing that not only have they made a difference in student's lives, but have improved their own life in turn.
Cons
It can be a bit difficult reaching some students, as they are either not engaged, uninterested in the close they are taking taking, or fail to understand the material at hand. Many students learn best in a one - on - one setting, which is hard to do without neglecting the entire class, and many students fail to seek out tutoring, which would go a long way in bridging the gap.
