Company doesn't live up to its own hype - Associate Capital Group Employee Review

Pros

The benefits and the people. As long as the company is performing well, they give two bonuses each year. One of them is typically larger than any bonus I had ever received before coming to CG. The other is icing on the cake. The health benefits are good, and the retirement benefits are through the roof. Generally everyone is friendly, most people are knowledgable, I've learned a lot working there.

Cons

There is a level of arrogance at the company that is hard to describe. It starts with the constant repetition of how different CG is from other companies - especially in its culture - and by implication different is better. On some levels this mantra is nearly cultish. And its only true if you want to believe it - it doesn't hold up to even the most basic scrutiny. Its a good company to work for, don't get me wrong, but its not nearly as good as management would have you believe. And, as we're learning recently, the financial well-being of the company, and accordingly your own job security, are far too dependent on stock market performance.

Pros

The bonuses and CSRP of 15% as well as many benefits are unmatched. I enjoy many of my colleagues and have made life long friends.

Cons

It was a great place to work and many will continue to feel that way until they are affected like those of us in the Norfolk Virginia office. There is no loyalty from the company and people are replaced either by a “vision“ of technology that doesn’t yet even exist within the organization or by cheap labor “offshore“. I thought I would retire from here and now I find myself out of a job after over 20 years before the end of 2027.
