Pros
I had a good experience overall. You get exposed to a lot pretty quickly—mainly around sourcing, cold calling business owners, lead generation, and some work with the social media team. It’s very hands-on, and you’re expected to actually contribute, not just sit around.
The environment pushes you. There’s a big emphasis on discipline, persistence, and communication, especially when you’re doing outreach and getting on calls. Over time, you get a lot more comfortable speaking with business owners and handling rejection.
The culture is also very consistent. Kevin Hong’s framework is something you feel across the whole team, and people take the work seriously. If you’re someone who wants to be pushed and improve, you’ll get that here.
Cons
A lot of the work is repetitive, especially the cold calling and outreach. If you’re expecting a traditional private equity internship with heavy modeling, this isn’t really that.
It’s also a pretty intense environment for an internship. There’s not a ton of hand-holding, so if you’re not self-motivated, it can be tough to keep up.
