Pros
The pay can be competitive depending on the role
Cons
Extremely reactive work environment with very poor planning and unclear ownership. The role I accepted did not match the work I was ultimately asked to perform. Responsibilities shifted quickly, and work outside the original job scope was framed as normal execution rather than a major change in expectations.
There is a heavy reliance on manual processes, legacy knowledge, undocumented workflows, and employees working nights and weekends to keep things moving. Instead of fixing root causes, the organization often seems to push more responsibility onto whoever is available. Turnover appears very high, especially in finance/accounting-related areas, and many people seem new, temporary, or overloaded.
Communication can be unprofessional, and stakeholder feedback is not always handled through appropriate channels. There is a culture of urgency without enough clarity, training, staffing, or support. If you are brought in to modernize processes or improve data, be prepared for resistance to actual change while still being held responsible for broken legacy processes.
