Pros
The main reason that springs to mind is the people. Barring few exceptions, nearly everyone at the company is pleasant company at the individual level. Relatively casual work environment + dress code, decent snacks in the breakroom, happy hours + occasional meals are nice. They also cover 100% of your healthcare premiums.
Cons
Below market salary + overall compensation.
Bonuses + Raises nominally exist but are tied to "company performance", and the board votes them down every year. Meaning in literal Office Space fashion, you can work your tail off, the company can onboard a few extra health systems, and you don't see another dime. Very top heavy, lots of directors and managers and VPs. Again in literal Office Space fashion, make a mistake and you get 6 people coming to complain about it. When a mishap occurs, there are also tons of meetings + new "processes" to stop people from being people and making mistakes, which inevitably descends into a savage blame game when all the nonsense process proves to be ultimately that.
While people are incredibly nice at the individual level, the company's culture as a whole somehow manages to be extremely toxic. Poor timetables + Poor management of client expectations + Poor planning add up to miserable development lifecycles. Very few people want to go to bat for other people, but everyone is keen on blaming each other. This has led to a pretty large amount of turnover and discontent.
