Pros
Pay is decent for the job compared to our competitors. Job is fairly easy. Staff is friendly.
Cons
Not flexible at all with schedules. When they are trying to hire you and talking about the job, they mention that they are very flexible... but in the contrary, they require YOU to be very flexible. If you're assigned evenings, you're there forever until someone leaves and then you must apply for the shift and it goes by seniority... The fact that there is an employee union leaves the superiors with their hands tied as to promotions and schedules which is definitively a con. I'm used to getting employee recognition, getting positive feedback for your great work, possible advancement and so and so. But with the union, everyone is at equal level, the employee that goes above and beyond is just like the employee that tries to stay in after call for as long as possible and do as little work as possible. The training is a mess. There is no assigned person to train you, they give that charge to a regular employee who has trained others before but doesn't get extra pay for it. There should be a definite ''trainer'' for the job, and there should definitively be a check up of the different procedures because even the trainer says ''they tell you to do it this way but you should do it that way''. Employees also argue while you're in training on which way is best.
