Excellent, consistent work provided throughout training contract. Supportive supervisors who really took the time to share their knowledge and ensure I was given the best experience. I was involved in numerous marketing events throughout my time at Cartmell Shepherd and thoroughly enjoyed them all. The work/life balance was second to none- 99.9% of the time I finished on time (5pm) and if I did give up the odd evening it was to attend a networking/social event to meet local businesses- which I found very useful in establishing myself professionally. The best team of people I have ever worked with, everyone pitches in and works together.

I have no disadvantages to list.

I met some lifelong friends along the painful journey to qualification (who have also moved onto fantastic firms who appreciate and reward them).

Disappointing culture of favouritism by senior management/directors and a failure to appreciate and nurture young talent. Extremely low pay, even for the region. Too much emphasis on marketing rather than doing a good job for clients, and far too much pressure on trainees to give up evenings/weekends without fair remuneration.
