Pros
1. Good views/scenery to work in. 2. Paid ferry and parking passes by the company. 3. Good off-season/summer job that pays decent.
Cons
1. The owners are super greedy and everything about how they treat their employees and handle business is shady. 2. Their entire system, company policies, prices are highly flawed and outrageous. 3. They have a monopoly on the island and everything runs through them, town council on Bald Head Island needs to investigate this matter. 4. Quality of golf carts is horrendous, bad out of shape, faulty parts, janky and slow as a tortoise, some of the carts in the lot are older than most of the employees. 5. They treat their employees as if their minions, and if you don’t kiss their behinds they’ll be out to get you. 6. Terrible customer service, they literally copy and paste the same message to any customer who tries to claim any sort of issues or regarding a refund on their carts, as they have a “no-refund” and “non-cancellation” policy. 7. Putting money over their morals, which is ultimately the downfall of any business. 8. Act very aggressive towards customers/employees, the owner had the audacity one day to grab my shirt and jerk me by my shoulder in the middle of customers to start yelling at me for essentially no reason. If you take your time to leave the lot after drop-off the owner will literally start spraying water at you to move along quicker. 9. They never seem to address any sort of real problems, instead they let issues continue to build up until it reaches a point where they have to find someone within the company to blame for their failing business. 10. Super hot outside during the summer, two employees left due to heat exhaustion. 11. This is a multi-million dollar company and the fact that they don’t provide the most up to date technology is a disgrace, the IPads they’ve been giving us to use are outdated and stop working halfway through the day. 12. If you do end up being fired, they don’t have the audacity to speak to you in person about it. Instead, they take the more coward and unprofessional way, and do it via text message while you’re in the middle of working on their lot! 13. Dealing with very self-entitled and hateful customers, mainly because of how bad the company itself is with their rates and bogus polices. 14. If you’re under the age of 25, in their minds you’re still considered a “kid”. The owner told me they would never hire someone that young as manager because of the “inexperience and immaturity”. Quick to jump conclusions am I right? 15. You’re stuck on an island and have to wait for a backed up ferry which never seems to run on time, and they don’t pay you for the time you’re stuck over there waiting to go home.
