The organization has a great mission, but poor managers at the executive level. - Anonymous employee Cascade Land Conservancy Employee Review

Pros

Noble mission, fine conservation work, passionate and dedicated middle-management, well marketed regional brand, expert negotiators in land trust acquisitions and policy creation.

Cons

Poor pay and benefits package. High expectations that work comes before all else, 24-7-365. Executive management is fantastic at "sealing the deal" at a negotiating table - but sadly subpar at managing people. You cannot manage an office and people who support you in the same way that you would manage a land negotiation. The world just doesn't work that way.

Pros

Great, committed staff who are interested in helping interns learn. Supportive and casual environment. Awesome mission, partners, and strong community involvement!

Cons

I was an unpaid intern; this is OK and what I signed up for, but I never felt that there was a chance to apply for and move into a paid role after completing my internship. But, that's always a risk!
