Wonderful patients, toxic and disappointing management - Registered Nurse, BSN Casey House Employee Review

Amazing clients and frontline colleagues, beautiful workplace and central location.

Supervisors, Managers, Directors, and CEO all appeared two-faced and incapable of following the organization's stated mission and values. The leadership team behaved in a condescending and neglectful manner, and consistently downloaded safety concerns onto frontline staff to problem-solve. "Managing up" became the norm, and we had eight Managers in less than a year. The organization claimed to be collaborative and anti-oppressive, while Leadership openly engaged in bullying and racism towards staff (and sometimes even clients). If staff needed any type of support, HR simply found a way to abruptly dismiss or lay them off without any consideration for them (or the impact on clients). Working at Casey House was objectively harmful to multiple staff, and the turnover has been substantial over the last several years. To top it off, they don't seem to understand how to meaningfully action ethical, trauma-informed care. I have never worked in a more chaotic and abusive workplace.
