It's a job - Analytical Chemist Catalent Pharma Employee Review

Pros

Sometimes the workload is reasonable. Some members of management are decent at their job. Good for experience. Benefits are okay.

Cons

The workload is entirely dependant on team management and they will play favorites. Lab staff are highly expendable to upper management. Pay is the lowest in the area when compared against similar roles at competitors. Training doesn't adequately prepare you for the job and when you mess up it will be your fault. Constant policy changes as blanket solutions to one off problems that result in making the job harder overall. Raises and promotions are based against quality. Quality is at the mercy of the work assigned by the management in charge of your raises and promotions. Promotions are arbitrarily time gated. Management is promoted by time employed rather than aptitude.

Pros

The team is incredibly welcoming, knowledgeable, and supportive, which has made it easy to learn and feel comfortable asking questions. There is a strong focus on training and collaboration, helping me feel safe, well prepared, and confident in my role. I also appreciate the benefits, which support a good work-life balance.

Cons

One area for improvement is the flexibility for new employees regarding remote work hours.

Pros

Adequate amount of PTO and suitable medical benefits and 401K. Co-workers were helpful and good resources when needed.

Cons

Difficult to receive promotions, as site GM, HR, and Global have to approve. No/very small annual increases. Departments need to hire additional support; again, difficult to get management and global to approve, thus a lot of turnover. Site directors/managers had conflicts between departments. Some would intentionally undermine other department heads if it suited their interest. Two directors have personal relationship, which seems to be conflict of interest.
