Pros
Line managers are given so much power. They can frustrate your effort and the HRM will do nothing about it. The HRMs always refer you back to your line managers to take all the decisions about you. It’s terrible when this manager doesn’t like or has something against you.
Cons
1. Wholistic assessment of individual performances. Don’t just rely on what the line manager decides. 2. The HRM should periodically send questionnaire to staff to know their pain point. 3. Do not give line managers total power. 4. Recommend leadership trainings for the line managers, and trainings that will improve performance of staff of the different teams.
