Pros
Casual working atmosphere, casual dress, regular hours. Some organizational events (holiday party, monthly or quarterly birthday parties, BBQs at the president's house). If you do your job, can stay there forever. Employer contributes 10% to your pension plan whether you contribute anything or not. Hours do allow for a work/life balance.
Cons
Low pay (nonprofit), with no raises unless you make a case for one (even cost of living increases!). No room to move up, as a select few are in positions of power with the well paying jobs and not planning to leave anytime soon. Definite favoritism if you are within those select few. Some people in management positions should not be managing people.
