Hands on experience as an attorney in a number of different capacities- grassroots, state/fed litigation, client communication, etc.

Cons

Heavily influenced by the personality of the executive director. If you don't get along with him, you may not enjoy the job.

Organization has undergone leadership transition and continues growing. The new leadership is amazing and this is a great place to do good work.

Cons

The organization is still growing, but the staff is committed to building a sustainable workplace that does meaningful work.

Pros

you will learn a lot, minimal supervision, casual dress code

Cons

zero training or guidance; you are thrown in to sink or swim but what is at stake are client's immigration cases so there's no room for trial and error. minimal pay all the while you will be made to wear multiple hats and complete constant tasks outside of your job description. zero appreciation or respect of any boundaries from executive director, he treated all us legal assistants as personal assistants and demanded things be done without providing enough information. he what make us feel small, would take calls and ignore us while demanding we stay seated in front of him waiting for his attention, and would be extremely rude to me and insensitive to clients during interviews.
