Pros
Good benefits, union representation, flexible schedule
Cons
In my position, my direct supervisor was Nora Slawik. It is essential to address instances where interactions with Nora were unprofessional and disrespectful. There were numerous occasions where her behavior towards me, and others, was belittling and inappropriate. Such conduct not only undermined morale but also impeded productivity and mutual respect within the workplace. Working under Nora Slawik’s supervision proved to be an exceedingly challenging professional experience. Regrettably, her conduct towards me was consistently characterized by cruelty and a dismissive attitude, which left me feeling undervalued and marginalized. Despite numerous attempts to address and improve our working relationship through open dialogue and communication strategies, these efforts yielded no discernible progress due to her apparent reluctance to provide support or foster a constructive environment. Regrettably, Nora Slawik's actions contributed to the development of a hostile work environment characterized by unhealthy team dynamics and a lack of effective leadership. Despite my attempts at creating better communication, and reporting instances to HR, I was met with no solution and instead, I was terminated from my position due to her negligence on not providing me training. The reasoning for my termination was "not meeting job expectations" but these "expectations" had never been communicated to me. It is to be noted that I worked extremely hard at my job. I was not provided any extensive training, I was left to figure out the job on my own. I do not offer this negative insight because I am bitter, I am incredibly happy I was let go- it was a blessing in disguise. I am sharing for being open and honest about my experience, It is unfortunate that despite a long history of poor management, people in power stay in power.
