Pros
Hybrid Schedule: 2 days in office 8:30-5:30. Fridays 9-12pm
Cons
Lack of Training Structure: The training process is chaotic and lacks any real structure, leaving new hires feeling unprepared. It's primarily a trial-and-error approach, which can be frustrating.
Inept Management: A new manager was hired with little to no management experience. Their vague and urgent directives often conflict with project needs, causing confusion and inefficiencies.
Misrepresentation of Role: The position was advertised as project management support, but in reality, it is primarily focused on project accounting, including invoicing and reconciling past accounting errors. This was not made clear during the hiring process.
Absence of Accounting Support: There is no in-house accounting team, and support for training is inconsistent. This makes it difficult to navigate the responsibilities effectively.
Administrative Tasks Treated as an Afterthought: The introduction to the role was rushed, with no time to establish order or structure. The administrative side feels undervalued and disorganized.
Unhelpful HR and Management: When I reached out to HR and upper management for support, I was told to be patient with the new manager. They offered no actionable solutions to create new systems. When I expressed my concerns about not having the resources needed to excel, I was met with indifference. Shortly after speaking with HR, the position was posted on LinkedIn, and just two days later, I was terminated. This felt retaliatory and unfair, as I had tried to seek help to improve my situation.
Outdated Systems and Processes: The reliance on analog invoicing and outdated software creates unnecessary tedium. The absence of a CRM system means that managing accounts receivable is a cumbersome process, despite the urgent need for better organization.
