Pros
Great benefits, competitive pay, smart people
Cons
Beware, especially if you are a woman. New senior leadership as of 2026 who failed the "culture test" at other companies before being hired at Chainguard are now predictably ruining it from the inside.
Chainguard Response

Thanks so much for sharing your perspective on this. Attrition of women in leadership is something we take seriously.
If you're open to it, we'd genuinely welcome a direct conversation. You can reach our Culture & Belonging team at culture@chainguard.dev. We want to get this right.
Chainguard is genuinely special. The culture here isn't just a slide in a deck — you feel it from day one. Everyone embodies the four principles: customer obsessed, bias for intentional action, serious work with a playful culture, and trust and good intentions as a default. People are exceptionally talented and also just really kind. The collaboration is effortless, there's real passion for the mission, and it's one of the most fun and energizing places I've ever been.
Cons
Fast-paced and ever-changing — but that's what makes it fun and exciting.
- True remote first company
- Onboarding went smoothly. The process was welcoming and everyone is friendly.
- Company culture and values are part of onboarding and actually shape the way the company operates.
- Energetic environment.
- Not a place where you will be micro managed.
- Lots of tough engineering problems to solve
- Benefits/compensation are great
Cons
Posting this review after about a month, nothing negative to report.
