Pros
Benefits are great, pay is somewhat competitive.
Cons
Retail banking is very cliquey. Say something behind closed doors and unless your in the clique it’s going to get repeated. Problem is that many have been working together for years so they have their own code of rules. Be ready to spend lots of time volunteering, having after work meetings, and teaching the public after work hours. If you’re full time you’ll feel like it’s hard to have a life outside of work because when you do have time off it’ll feel like it’s so little. And if you want vacation time or pto days, even if you ask in advance you’ll probably get the run around. You won’t get your schedule for the month until a day or so before the month begins. Honestly, working here taught me things to look out for that I never wanted to be part of again. Not sure how other areas of the bank are to work for, but find work elsewhere when it comes to retail banking. It’s not worth the hassle.
