Pros

The company's mission to provide care to the under-served is noble, and people truly do get good healthcare there.

Cons

The company is poorly run and everything is 100% about the Chens at all times - more so than the patients. You will be forced to recite their internal messaging daily, and you will be forced to pretend to be enthusiastic about saying the same 5 sentences morning after morning, day in and day out. It's corporate brainwashing and it does nothing towards actually achieving the mission you're forced to recite. Did you know that this is a highly religious Christian company? Because I didn't. It's nowhere on the website, nowhere in the job description, and nowhere in the messaging. But the second you join, you'll feel it everywhere and they have zero concern about employees who feel uncomfortable in this environment. You will see God mentioned in the family mission statement and you will get emails with prayers and overt religious messaging. I'm all for morals and mission, but forcing your religion on your employees is absolutely unacceptable, especially because there's no way of knowing you're joining a religious company beforehand. The Chens control everything that happens and if they suddenly change their mind about a process, your job can change drastically from one day to the next (and you have no say in the matter either). You will hear horror stories about visits and phone calls from Mary Chen. You will be told that if Chris Chen happens to run into you in the hallways, he might make you recite "the ChenMed way". You will laugh as if this is a joke, but he can and will do this to any employee he runs into. The Chens want you to know that this is their company and their company alone, and you will do as they say. Everyone else is expendable, and you can feel that attitude when you work there. Good employees do not stay long because of it.

Pros

Remote Work Flexibility: The ability to work from home offers a great work-life balance and a highly flexible day-to-day environment. Excellent Peers: The general staff and fellow employees are incredibly nice, professional, and great to collaborate with. There is a strong sense of peer-to-peer camaraderie.

Cons

Disrespectful Direct Management: My immediate supervisor frequently displays a disrespectful and condescending attitude toward direct reports. Constructive feedback is non-existent; instead, mistakes are met with public or private hostility rather than professional coaching. Complete Lack of Support: Management offers zero support when challenges arise. They provide no guidance or assistance leaving direct reports entirely on their own to figure things out.
